KEYTIME® Skillbuilder Learning Kit

The Standard KEYTIME® Skillbuilder Learning Kit is available for self-instruction. This language-based program is more successful than rote memory, which is how typing is usually taught. It is more efficient than software-based programs and conventional instruction. The kit includes the KEYTIME® Skillbuilder© practice book, KEYfinder© color-coded charts for 4 keyboard layouts, link to online KEYtimer© timing program (see Getting Started page of Skillbuilder), and Fuzzy Dots. This kit provides instruction for Qwerty, Dvorak, and single-hand keyboard usage.

The Deluxe KEYTIME® Skillbuilder Learning Kit is available for individual self-instruction and provides all that’s needed to quickly and successfully learn to touch-type. This language-based video program uses mnemonic clues and muscle memory exercises instead of the rote memory method used in most typing programs. It’s proven to be more efficient than software-based programs. The kit includes the instructional DVD used in our classes, our KEYTIME® Skillbuilder© practice book, KEYfinder© finger path charts for 4 keyboard layouts, link to online KEYtimer© timing program (see Getting Started page of Skillbuilder), Fuzzy Dots, and Color Coded Dots. This kit provides instruction for Qwerty, Dvorak, and single-hand keyboard usage. At this time, DVD instruction is available only for Qwerty and standard Dvorak. Within 30 days of purchase, customers who purchase the Deluxe Kit are eligible to take a 1 hour Tutoring session for $50.00.

KEYfinder Quickstart Learning Kit©

Quick and Cheap! The KEYfinder Quickstart Learning Kit© is our most inexpensive way to learn. The kit includes our KEYfinder© color-coded finger path chart in Qwerty, Dvorak, Single-Left Dvorak, or Single-Right Dvorak layouts, Colored Coding Dots, and Fuzzy Dots. The KEYfinder© is a visual aid to learn the finger paths. For quicker results, cover the keyboard letters with the Colored Coding Dots and follow the color pattern displayed on the KEYfinder©. While keeping your eyes on the KEYfinder©, type using the directional cues to build the muscle memory instead of looking at the keyboard keys.

TYPEDancing for Kids©

Award-winning TYPEDancing for Kids©, featuring Tim Noah, teaches young children, preschool through third grade (ages 4-8+), with songs and activity cards. Qwerty and Dvorak options are available. Learning to type properly with all fingers, before developing bad habits with two fingers, is most important. It is never too soon to learn to keyboard. Three levels of learning are taught: Finger number names; Finger tap dancing (dexterity); TYPEDancing© (key location). This program is for individual learning and is also ideal for classroom, preschool, or group classes. TYPEDancing for Kids© is used in the KEYTIME® Kids Academy class.

The size we offer fits most notebooks and laptops. There is also a larger size that fits standard size keyboards—it can be purchased directly from the manufacturer.

KEYtimer® Timing Device

The KEYtimer© is an interactive audible timing device. This is not a tutorial. It creates a practice log and times for elapsed time. The full version, which includes Alpha Timing, Word Per Minute Timing, Dexterity Potential, and a Practice window, is available only with the purchase of a KEYTIME© Learning Kit.
