After 30+ years of success, the secret is out! KEYTIME® is an innovative and effective method to learn touch typing in a short period of time. It is revolutionary in its teaching methodology, which is based on learning theory, instead of rote memory and key placement. Our method allows students to learn letter location - without looking - in about an hour during the first session! It’s fast, easy, and fun! Hundreds of thousands of students have learned how to type in one hour (or less) and improve speed and accuracy in about 10 hours. The key to our proven success is our unique multi-modal, language-based method focusing on individual learning style, background, and health. More now than ever, proper keyboarding is becoming essential for productivity and health. Unique to our method is the focus on ergonomics and eliminating bad habits. We view these as preventative measures against injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, back problems, neck discomfort, eye strain, and body stress issues as they relate to keyboarding.
Keyboarding includes ergonomics, key location, speed, and accuracy. When using our portable Skillbuilder® Learning Kit, students can hone these skills, practice virtually anywhere, and gauge their own progress. Our courses and typing method are suitable for adults, children in Pre-K through high school, anyone who is just learning to type, and those who have mastered keyboarding but wish to improve their touch-typing skills. Our classes are appropriate for students of all abilities including those with special needs, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, and those needing single-hand options. Know, with KEYTIME® every student can Type Faster, Fast!
Experienced typists, who have mastered touch-typing, benefit from our program by learning how to increase speed, finesse their skills for accuracy, and increase their word per minute. Students learn how to group letters using the English language to quicken typing speed and create a new faster flow. Our classes are ideal for eliminating bad habits and learning to incorporate ergonomics for healthier habits. We help students determine realistic goals, including how to get to their handwriting speed and faster, based on their performance and dexterity speed. Those who cannot take a class can progress, at their own pace, with our Skillbuilder@ Learning Kit. Should a Word Per Minute certification be needed, we can provide a proctored test, a certificate, a copy of the tests, and the test results.
Dvorak is a layout built for speed and accuracy. The standard layout is for two-handed keyboarding; the most commonly used letters are on the home row, including all the vowels! This keyboard is generally easier to learn than Qwerty, especially for those with learning disabilities. Keyboard layouts.
Standard Dvorak Keyboard
There are also two single-hand layouts: Right-hand and Left-hand. These layouts are designed to keep the most commonly used letters centralized for ease of use to the dominant hand.
Single Right-hand Dvorak Keyboard
Single-hand typists can learn to keyboard more comfortably and with greater efficiency than if they were using a standard Qwerty keyboard as a one-handed typist.
Standard Left-hand Keyboard
Who else can benefit from the single-hand layouts? Anyone who needs to multi-task! For example, police officers and healthcare professionals.
Benefits of typing faster include savings to businesses and gains in personal time. The amount of time on tasks is lessened, which helps reduce backlogs and potentially saves on overtime. For instance, an efficient data entry professional, who inputs data 90% of the month, can increase their output by approximately 20 words per minute. Owners, partners, managers, and employees alike enjoy less work-related stress when tasks are quickly and easily done, and more personal time is gained.
Whether learning the standard Qwerty keyboard or a Dvorak layout, at KEYTIME®, we believe EVERYONE can learn to Type Faster, Fast!
